I do not know: If your mouth is truly dry and you are having trouble producing saliva, then see your Dr to be examined and checked for underlying causes like Sjogren's. Sjogren syndrome is an autoimmune disorder in which the glands that produce tears and saliva are destroyed. This causes dry mouth and dry eyes.

Dry mouth: I wonder if the foods you are eating could cause dry mouth, particularly if you are eating a lot of salty foods. Some medications such as antihistamines (Benadryl), blood pressure meds and many others can cause dry mouth, as can smoking, alcohol, and caffeine. Some medical conditions including anxiety, thrush, Sjogren syndrome and many others are possible causes, too.
