What is the healing process and timeframe for an extracted tooth?

Tooth extraction: the healing after an extraction depends on the individual and the nature of the extraction, surgical vs simple.. Generally after a simple extraction one feels better in a day or two but the healing process can take 1-2 weeks for the soft tissue to heal and it can take up to 3 months for the bone to fill into the extraction site. All of this will be longer for a surgical extraction.

Depends: Depends on the tooth. If the tooth has periodontal disease, it may heal in a few days. A full boney extration will take weeks to months for the bone to fill in. You'll feel much better however in a few days. See an oral surgeon for best results.

Depends: there are many factors involved. Why was the tooth extracted, was it a simple or surgical extraction and what is your individual body's capability of healing ( diabetics can take longer to heal for example) are just some of the factors involved.

3-4 weeks to heal: The healing process begins immediately after surgery as your body sends blood to nourish the alveolar socket. It usually takes for gums about 3-4 weeks to heal. The bone can take up to 6 months to heal completely.
