Fever: is the body's response to infection. use of fever reducing medications is not 'curative', only causes reduction in temperature earlier than the brain would reduce it naturally. Lack of reduction after use is usually related to inappropriate medication dosing. Prolonged or excessive fevers should prompt an in person evaluation by a healthcare practitioner to determine the cause of the fever.
