Our baby is 14 months old and was fine the whole day she has a sudden fever of 38.4 what can we do to break it at home as we stay on a farm? we have empaped, stilpane and panado syrup?

Cause of fever: If she is otherwise well and appears well after treating the fever, observe, provide fluids and follow up with your Pediatrician. If she is in pain, having a cough or vomiting, please see your pediatrician. Continue to provide treatment of children's Tylenol and/or Motrin for a T of 38.5 or higher.

No need to treat: Don't worry/ panic because of fever alone. The elevated temperature is a good thing. Cells that fight infections work better at higher temperatures. Also, many infectious agents such as viruses and some bacteria cannot replicate ad well at higher body temperatures.
