Cortisol Stim Test: A Cortisol stimulation tests should be performed when there is doubt about the status of hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal function, and is used to establish the diagnosis in patients with equivocal serum cortisol values in whom hypoadrenalism is suspected. There are different types of test. Usually a low -dose ACTH stimulation test is done. Your doctor will chose the appropriate test for you.
