A member asked:

Help! i have fatigue, brain fog, dizziness (upon waking only). my 24hr salivary cortisol results were very low which instigated a serum cortisol test (8am 11.2 mcg/d)l and a plasma acth (8am 16 pg/ml) my a1c was 4.8. should i do a stimulation test?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Well, cortisol and ACTH levels are in the low normal range, as is your blood sugar (that I am assuming is fasting.) Labs are just labs. Those symptoms that you do mention can happen in early Addison's disease. The dizziness in the morning is typical, especially if it happens when you stand. Yes, have a stimulation test, and if those results are normal, I would continue to pursue a diagnosis.
