Veneers: What the remaining tooth looks like after veneers are placed will depend on the reason why the veneers were placed. Some conservative veneers have little or no removal of tooth structure. Each case is different. Discuss this with your dentist.

Dental veneers: The true benefit of dental veneers are they allow your dentist to be very conservative (only 0.5-0.7 mm prep) and recreate a natural appearance to your smile.

Like a tooth..: A veneer is a face or mask that is bonded to a tooh. It looks like the tooth or if you are changing the shape, width or length it still looks like a tooth only wider or longer and perhaps a different color than what the tooth it sits on looks like. Very cosmetic and high maintenance.

Veneers: What do you mean by filed down veneers? Veneers are used to replace lost tooth structure, but there is no reason for the veneers to be filed down. Please rephrase.

Minimal Changes: Veneers are very conservative, by definition. In fact, in some cases, the underlying teeth don't have to be altered at all. In the other cases, the preparation of the teeth should be absolutely minimal. In fact, the dentist should remain within your natural tooth enamel. So, the teeth look basically the same as they do before, they're just a bit thinner on the lip side and a bit less shiny.
