A member asked:

Recently had blood test for cortisol. it was 29.1 at 10 am. is this indicative of cushings? i had recently had a cortisone shot , could that affect?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Cortisol: You cannot diagnose Cushings with one cortisol. Cortisol fluctuates a lot during the day. This value is a bit higher than is typically seen unless there was some stress going on. Talk to your Endocrinologist about what this means. How recent was the cortisone shot? Unless it was the same day as the cortisol test, it probably did not affect it.
