Good idea: Since the pituitary gland is a possible primary source of symptoms raising concern for Cushing's, it is indeed reasonable to image the area.

Cushings diagnosis: Rule #1 in Endocrinology: first establish the hormones before you start the imaging. If your cortisols are normal, then you don't have Cushings and the MRI is unnecessary. What if the pituitary has an incidental adenoma (which is common)? You would not operate if there's no hormonal problem. You need to see an Endocrinologist because the diagnosis and work up of Cushings is complicated.
