Urologist: There are some nurse practitioners who are highly knowledgeable and reliable. On the other hand, without knowing the capabilities of this particular one would suggest asking that you be seen by the urologist, unless the initial session is only to gather info for the urologist. Good luck as this often is a difficult problem.

54 year old male non smoker, had a uti plus passed a kidney stone in the past 10 days. Urologist did a ct urogram to check for more stones, only thing found was "mild bladder wall thickening", have microscopic hematuria, what are the odds of cancer?
