Cyst: hi Amanda 648 Depends a little on age, but most superficial bumps on the head are swollen sebaceous (oil) glands that have become infected (forming an abscess). Try hot compresses..it may drain by itself. Or consult your own doctor, who may want to incise and drain ( I & D), or refer you for this. Don't delay if it gets worse.
