It's possible...: ...To get a coating on the tongue as a sign of severe acid reflux. However, there are many other reasons why your tongue could have an appearance of a coating. To sort it out, you should see your primary doctor or a gastroenterologist. In the mean time, try adding liquid or chewable antacids to your current anti-reflux regimen, while you are waiting for your appointment. Good luck.
