I noticed yellow coating on my tongue also raised bumps in the back of my tongue. along with burping. im going to the dr tomorrow. what could it be?

Many causes???: Hard to determine without a thorough history and exam. Has this occurred before. Meds, supplements, trauma, etc., may cause. If in doubt and if it persists, see a dr. And/or a dentist.

Great observation!: Great job paying attention to your body! as a dentist, i see every patient's tongue and each looks different. The tongue has rough bumps called circumvallate papillae at the base. To link your tongue appearance to overall health, you may find doctors with training in eastern medicine also. The tongue can show many systemic imbalances if a trained doctor examines carefully to find subtle signs.
