I'm currently using fluticasone for sinus congestion and qvar for asthma - both are corticosteroids. is it safe to use nasalcrom (cromolyn) too?

Yes: Nasalcrom has little or no side effects (rarely a rash perhaps) and thus can be safely used with other nasal medications. It is not a steroid or antihistamine. However I think adding a nasal antihistamine will likely work better.
