Most bronchitis infections are caused by viral infection. The z pak is a good broad spectrum antibiotic used to treat bacterial bronchitis. Her nasal congestion may be treated w nasal saline and a humidifier. Avoid cough suppressants, especially given her asthma. Follow her asthma plan which may require adjustment, if there is shortness of breath or wheezing, for example. Please follow up.
