These steps: First, see a doctor to make sure this is just a fissure. If it is an anal fissure, it may resolve by adding fiber to diet (and drinking plenty of water), sitz bath (sitting in warm water for 10 min 2 times a day), and topical ointments for pain control. If not improved, the next step is using some special ointments that will help the muscle of the anus relax (and so will let the fissure heal).
