Hyponatremia & Meds: Many medications including brintellix can cause a drop in serum sodium. Hyponatremia can cause weakness, nausea, difficulty concentrating and other medically serious symptoms There are many antidepressants & If someone already has a low sodium there may be better choices that do not adde to the risk. Together you & your doctor can weigh the pros and cons and decide what is best choice for you.

With caution: Your doctor may prescribe a lower dose, and check your sodium frequently if it is prescribed to you.
