This is serious: You need to find out why you are iron deficient. Even if you are a vegetarian or having heavy periods, your physicain still needs to check for GI bleeding (ulcer, cancer), etc. Now please forgive my frankness. Nobody likes taking pills. But somebody loves you, and even if you care little for your own health, you have a duty to preserve it for the sake of others. Please do what you know you must.

Other options: You need to find the cause of your iron deficiency, and correct the cause the treatment with oral iron is usually effective if you have treated the cause like exessive blood loss during periods or loss from GI tract if the iron level is very low and hemoglobin is very low causing symptoms than IV iron can be given under medical monitoring as there is risk of serious reaction.
