A member asked:

I have had a swollen lymph node for months with no sign of infection (fbc normal) if it was cancerous would it have grown in size? biopsy schedueled.

Possibly: The size and rate of growth of a lymph node are not necessarily determinative of whether they are cancerous. The nodes with cancer usually are hard, fixed to underlying tissue and sometimes to overlying skin, but the best way in which to tell is by biopsy. Hope yours is benign.

Yes it would have: Cancerous nodes rarely sit still and tend to get larger over a period of months. Unless the lymph node is bigger than 2 cm, and or it has grown in size, I do not see a clear reason to do a biopsy of this lymph node. Please give us some more info.
