Warm Washcloth: If you prefer not to give ibuprofen, try warming a washcloth, not too hot, and having the child lay it over the affected ear. This will provide some temporary relief, repeat as needed. If you are looking for a medicine to give, then of course ibuprofen will help!

Ear pain: Ibuprofen or acetaminophen, dosed by the child's weight will work the best. If it may be an ear infection have the child seen as at that age an antibiotic would be needed.
