Many paths...: Some Ob/Gyns substitute ultrasound for abdominal measurements. Ultrasound is more accurate than measuring the uterus. Other Ob/Gyns use finger-breadth measurements indicating the number of finger-breadths above and below the umbilicus. Any of these are acceptable. If you are curious, ask your Ob/Gyn how she is monitoring the baby's growth. Best wishes!
