A member asked:

Tumor cells do not show significant nuclear pleomorphism, does this mean malignancy or benign?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Low grade: Pleomorphism is a term used in histology and cytopathology to describe variability in the size, shape and staining of cells and/or their nuclei. It is a characteristic of malignant neoplasms, and metaplasia. Certain benign cellS tmay have pleomorphism, e.g. neuroendocrine cells, Newer techniques with mAbs targeting tumor protein can identify transformation even before nuclear pleomorphism seen.
