Possibly: A cranioplasty involves replacing,molding, plating or technically planning a replacement skull for a defect in the skull. Once the hard surface (ie metal, bone, hydroxyapatite...) is implanted it will not change in shape. At times, there will be swelling in the scalp for weeks to months following surgery that will resolve over time with improved cosmetic appearance.
