Specializes in General Surgery

Sometimes both: Cranioplasty is a surgical repair of a defect or deformity of a skull. The types of cranioplasty repair depend on the location, the type of injury leading to the defect and size of defect and overlying skin defect. When there more than the calvarium (also known as "skull cap") involved, then a craniofacial surgeon may be needed to help with reconstruction.
