If your braces gets broken, can you wait a week to repair it at your orthodontist? i use gums, so would it make a different if it's broken?

Broken braces: It is important to get to your orthodontist as soon as possible if you have broken braces. Your teeth can shift and move. This will delay your progress and increase your treatment time.

Call orthodontist: If there is a chance that the teeth can move in a very short period of time, I would call and get into the ortho office asap.

Call: Only your Orthodontist can answer this question for you as he/she knows your situation best. In general, broken braces mean at best treatment progress stops, at worst teeth can move incorrectly. In either case time in treatment becomes longer. So call your Orthodontist immediately, and stop eating hard, sticky, chewy foods.
