Fibroids: At 51, you are statistically still producing estrogen, which makes fibroids grow larger over time. The size of a fibroid can cause difficulties with bowel function by pressing on the colon. Obtain a sonogram to estimate the size of the fibroid. They can of course be removed surgically or by obstructing blood flow to the womb.
