I'm an insomniac & a light sleeper who uses 6 mg of melatonin and a fan to stay asleep i'm in dorms & i wake up whenever she moves. any suggestions?

If you sleep in same: bed - separate beds would help. Keep bedroom dark & cool & use only for sex & sleep. Turn off tv. No naps. Exercise regularly but not in late evening. No caffeine for 6 hrs & no alcohol or tobacco w/i 2 hrs of sleep. Keep dinner moderate sized & finish at least 2 to 3 hrs before sleep. Godo luck.

Gabapentin: Gabapentin (neurontin) is one of the few drugs that enhances natural sleep. It is a derivative of GHB (Xyrem) that is the safest, most non-toxic, non-habit forming sleep inducer known. GHB enhances all four phases of sleep. Gabapentin's efficacy was recently reported to be almost as good as GHB's. The advantage is that Gabapentin is not a controlled drug, and is easily obtainable.
