I am having a fibromyalgia flare i usually take 2 neurontin (gabapentin) at night, but pain is severe can i take another neurontin (gabapentin) or what else can i do to help.

Options: The maximum dose of neurontin is 3600 mg a day, generally split into 3 doses. Talk to your physician, but you may benefit from increasing your dose. Alternative medications to treat include Savella, (milnacipran) Lyrica, and some of the newer anti depressants like Cymbalta or Effexor.

Several actions: 30's female w. fibromyalgia has pain in bed & neurontin ineffective; uses Vicodin. Savella, (milnacipran) Cymbalta, & Lyrica approved for FM, which can be associated with Hypermobility Syndrome & pelvic ligament strain when reclined is common. Soft mattress, cannabis, yoga, & aquatherapy oft help FM patients. Opiates are discouraged. Muscle reconditioning paramount. Cannabis topical lotions useful for many.
