3600 mg/day: 800 mg four times a day is the upper limit on neurontin (gabapentin). It is my understanding that taking more than 800 mg with any one dose is a waste as there are limits on absorption past 800 mg per dose. Higher doses can result in increased sedation and in sensitive individuals confusion, gait impairment, slurred speech. Most tolerate it well, however. Please discuss your dosing and concerns with you doctor.

Not maxed: The recommended max daily dose of Neurontin (gabapentin) is 3600mg per day. This is not clinically indicated for fibromyalgia but can help with neuropathy. All medications taken at high doses for long periods of time can affect you liver and kidneys. Discuss these concerns with your doc.
