It "snuck up": This situation "snuck up" on the medical profession and in fact many of the "Benzo Buddies" were CREATED by PHYSICIANS I am your age and when I was actively practicing they were SENDING ME CARTONS OF XANAX (alprazolam) IN THE MAIL! "Chronic Withdrawal" is a nightmare! I sympathize and hope with you that the reasons will become clearer since its now becoming a NATIONAL PROBLEM! Hope this helps! Good Luck DrZ

Be aware: While I can understand issues that come along with the class of drugs known as benzodiazepines, I'm not sure what you mean but "doctors have not a clue". Additionally, you should be aware that withdrawal isn't a process lasting for years. Addiction is very much so the case.
