A member asked:

I have been taking fioricet, 2 pills each morning for around 4 years for migraines, i want to stop taking the medicine. i will talk to my doctor, but how bad should i expect the withdrawals to be? i have bad anxiety?

I think after 4 years of taking this medication daily & in view of your chronic anxiety your MD will have to guide you through a very slow taper off fioricet. I feel you will also require treatment for chronic anxiety, preferably by a psychiatrist. However, your physician, who knows your history & current status, is best to advise you.

Please see a Clinical Psychologist with expertise in multiple types of psychotherapy for help with your anxiety. A Psychiatrist can prescribe medication to help you with the symptoms of withdrawal.
