Yes, but rarely: Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV), the cause of infectious monoucleosis, can cause encephalitis, but usually during or shortly after mono itself. In addition, EBV, as well as several other viruses, rarely can trigger postinfectious encephalitis, an autoimmune disorder. Having had MRI, you may be in the care of a neurologist, infectious diseases specialist, or both. If not, ask for referral to same.

Diplopia-infarcts on MRI brain ? Now optho wants test for mg . Diplopia lasts 10-14 days, not just fleeting. Infarcts not in areas typical eye probs.
