Can the mono virus trigger encephalitis, i had mono last year and it destroyed me. never felt the same now have diplopia/confusion, and mri was clear ?

Yes, but rarely: Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV), the cause of infectious monoucleosis, can cause encephalitis, but usually during or shortly after mono itself. In addition, EBV, as well as several other viruses, rarely can trigger postinfectious encephalitis, an autoimmune disorder. Having had MRI, you may be in the care of a neurologist, infectious diseases specialist, or both. If not, ask for referral to same.
