How long can bone tumor in rib cage stay undetected.

Short time.: If lesion is benign such as bone cyst or benign cartilage tumor it may be unrecognized for many months. If malignant, the lesion will expand and produce pressure on rib periosteum which can cause significant pain, especially if it is metastatic.
