Anaerobic infections: Metronidazole (Met-ron-eye-daz-ol) or Flagyl, is a medicine which is used in bacterial infections of the vagina, fungating tumours, rosacea, skin ulcers and treatment and prevention of certain types of infections. It is mostly used against anaerobic infections which are common oral infections, and protozoan infections which are on the skin and in the birth canal of some women(trichomonas, etc)
