About

Bio

Heather Pickett DO is a Family Physician recently retired after 22 years with the United States Air Force. She was involved with all aspects of family medicine as a teaching faculty for 11 years and as a Flight Surgeon for Air Force pilots and their families. She has taught around the world, done many medical missions trips, delivered lots of babies and enjoys the relationships that are formed in family medicine. She completed a fellowship in Faculty Development from UNC Chapel Hill and has specialized training in medical acupuncture through the Helms Medical Institute via UCLA. As an osteopath trained in manual medicine, she also enjoys sharing these integrative medicine modalities with patients and minimizing medication, using good nutrition, exercise, spirituality and incorporating essential oil aromatherapy as needed. Her goal is for individuals and families to be proactive about their own wellness and to be able to manage their own health as a team between themselves and their family doctor.
