Begin gentle ROM: With a nondisplaced radial head fracture, I treat only with an ace and sling. After ten to fourteen days with no change in position by Xray, I start the patient on gentle active range of motion. The important thing about radial head fractures is the prolonged immobilization of the elbow may cause permanent stiffness.
