Yes: It is common to have some degree of capsular contracture around an implant after 30 years. A capsule (thin layer of scar tissue) is normal after implantation. If that capsule thickens or tightens it can become hard and painful. Newer techniques of augmentation make capsular contracture less frequent. It is fairly simple to remedy, but does require surgery. Talk with your Plastic Surgeon.
