Be Careful: This is a very common situation with spinal disease. Get as many opinions as you feel comfortable with until you find someone you trust and make a decision. Spinal disc disease can be handled effectively in many different ways.

Less is more: You can go with the conservative approach (injection, therapy) and if that doesn't work you can always reconsider surgery later.
