Neuro Exam Needed: Cervical spinal stenosis at C3-4 (<9 mm AP diameter) may be serious if the spinal cord is compressed enough to cause symptoms or neurological signs of spinal cord injury. A neurosurgeon or neurologist should be consulted, but surgery not necessary if asymptomatic with no signs of neurological deficit on exam. Surgery for neck pain without arm pain is rarely indicated unless stenosis worse (<6 mm)
