Somewhat: Major surgery has a small risk from general anesthesia alone. It is safe most of the time, or we wouldn't do it. What you have is not clear, which is why you are having the surgery. Hopefully the surgery corrects the problem and all is well, but it depends on what is causing the problem. After the surgery you will know what caused it and what the next steps will be.
