Multiple causes: High blood pressure is the most common cause of intracerebral hemorrhage. Also if an aneurysm ruptures, it leaks blood into the space around the brain. Ruptured brain aneurysms are fatal in about 40% of cases. Amyloid angiopathy, head trauma and liver disease just to name a few.
