Would a coma lead to brain death?

Brain death: Coma itself is not an actively progressive process. It is a result of an underlying disorder. Coma may be a stage in progression of the underlying condition leading to death for some people, or to recovery for others.

Yes: If the cause of the coma cannot be reversed, the patient can progress to brain death.
