Ulnar shortening: is when a thin section of the ulna, the forearm.wrist bone on the little finger side of the forearm is removed, and the ulna is plated and fixed . thistreduces the contact of the ulna at the wrist with the structures there such as the carpal bones. The ulna typically heals in around 8 weeks and early on light activity is fine/encouraged but full strength and mobility may take a month or two more.
