A member asked:

Apart from blood thinners are there any drugs that should be avoided when taking high dose omega 3? (1000mg epa & 500mg dha)

Mostly aspirin: One article in AAFP journal sites:"Omega-3 fatty acids exert a dose-related effect on bleeding time; however, there are no documented cases of abnormal bleeding as a result of fish oil supplementation, even at high dosages and in combination with other anticoagulant medications." For a comprehensive list, check www.drugs.com for a list of drugs that moderately affect omega 3 supplementation.

Omega 3's: As a suggestion, you may consider walnuts, Chia seeds, flax seed and Salmon for a more effective way of obtaining the benefits of Omega 3s! Not a concern with Blood thinners.
