A member asked:

Do people get some cardiovascular diseases from anxiety because their hearts beat so fast, or because their blood vessels constrict?

Risk factor: Stress can increase hormonal changes that influence cardiovascular disease. Anxiety itself is not an associated factor but it your anxiety is the result of a high stress lifestyle then it is not helping.

No proof: anxiety could worsen the course of cardiovascular disease, exacerbate an underlying cardiac problem like angina, palpitaions, arrhythmias....There is no proof that it "creates"cardiovascular disease. Definitely, it doesn't help.
