Blood flow: They may have use color Doppler mode. This shows blood flow in both arteries and veins with blood flowing both away from and towards the observer. If you were looking at your ovaries it mean than they are viable (alive, so to speak) with normal blood flow. You may also differentiate if a structure is vascular by observing if blood is flowing through.
