A member asked:

Feel a sensation in my throat. i have an abscess tooth being treated by augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) could this be my anxiety getting the best of me or a actual problem?

Hard to say: Anxiety can certainly cause difficulties in swallowing. An allergic reaction to the antibiotic would involve itching, tingling, swelling in the throat, mouth and/or lips. Are you having any trouble breathing? If so then I would be evaluated by a doctor. Better to be safe in this situation.

Antibiotic: What's the sensation? May be anxiety, may be allergic reaction to the Penicillin. Talk to the prescribing practitioner or go to ER. Note that antibiotics don't cure infected teeth, just limit the spread of infection until you can have root canal treatment or extraction accomplished.
