Is there anything that can falsely elevate a monthly platelet blood test?

Dehydration: Inadequate fluid intake can cause 'volume contraction'. If the blood is relatively concentrated, the platelets (and all other cells counted on a CBC) will be artificially elevated. Beyond that cause, I don't know.
