Probably not: Hypokalemic periodic paralysis (HPP) is a rare condition caused by a gene mutation. A kidney cyst would not cause this, but may also be present. I don't believe kidney cysts are more common with this condition. HPP is very difficult to treat as the conditions that bring about hypokalemia are unpredictable and varied.
