It is normal: Many words in the English require you to use your tongue to pronounce a word (e.g. the) and touch the back of your teeth.

Palate follow thru: The tongue typically finishes articulation by going to the roof of the mouth. The number 1 reason for improper tongue posture is an impedied airway. See an ENT for this issue.
